Almond Gluten Free Donuts

Donuts always remind me of junior school birthday treats. There was always three fan favourites: jam donuts, chocolate donuts and the simple cinnamon sugar donuts. But I feel like donuts have become a thing of the past, as I have gotten older. Not anymore, I made these after having a craving of a donut and a lot of almond flour. I hope you enjoy.




  • 100g of coconut palm sugar (you can use honey and normal sugar)
  • 4 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of almond
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla essence
  • 250g of almond flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • For chocolate coating: 100g of dark chocolate chip, 2 tablespoons of almond milk, 1 tablespoons of coconut oil



  • Preheat the oven to 180oC and spray the donut tray with cooking spay
  • Whisk the coconut palm sugar, vanilla, coconut oil, almond butter and eggs
  • Add the almond flour, salt and baking powder and whisk until mixed
  • Put the batter into a Ziploc bag and cut the
  • Pipe the batter into the donut rounds until it is full
  • Even out the donut tray until it is even
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until it is solid and bounces back when touched
  • Leave the donuts to cool
  • While the donuts are cooling, melt the chocolate and mix the coconut oil and almond milk until the chocolate is melted and loose.
  • When the donuts are cold, take them out of the tray and dip them in the chocolate and put it in the fridge for the chocolate to harden
